Creating a peaceful world is not solely the responsibility of world leaders and governments. It is the responsibility of every citizen of the world. When we envision peace, practice peace, and call for peace, peace is possible. The 8,945 for Peace is just one of the many ways humanity can create a peaceful world. What does being 1 of the 8,945 for Peace entail? What are you committing to?
creating and holding a vision for a peaceful world
practicing daily meditation; time in solitude
steadfastly endeavoring to be peace, express peace, and cultivate peace in every area of your life
Are you ready to get started? Here's what to expect:
Being 1 of the 8,945 for peace is a lifestyle. You are committing to being and expressing peace for your own health and wellbeing and for the good of the planet. One of the pitfalls of the peace studies was that after the participators stopped meditating, the crime rates or conflict that decreased during the period of meditation resumed. That is why this peace initiative expands the mission of the participants in the peace studies from meditating for a fixed period of time to embodying, envisioning, and expressing peace. This peace initiative is about radiating peace throughout your daily life every day, all day.
Kim Andrews, founder of this peace initiative, discovered that this is no small task. Her challenges started as soon as she made the commitment to live peace. And she thought she was already doing that! She was, but not fully. She discovered that living peace takes diligence, focus, self-awareness, and the will to change.
